Antique Cardinal Richelieu Bronze Bust Sculpture

This patinated bronze bust depicting the Cardinal Richeleau (Armand Jean du Plessis de Richelieu, Cardinal-Duc de Richelieu, 1585-1642), the noted French clergyman, noble and statesman who served under King Louis VIII. This bronze certainly dates from the nineteenth century or possibly earlier. Mounted on its stone pedestal it measures 20" tall, 11" wide and 7" deep. There are no foundry or other hallmarks. Provenance provided upon request. This item resides with our client on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York and may be seen by appointment. Additional images forwarded upon request.
