Here we have a very nice platform rocker from the late 1800s. This chair has a beautifully turned woodwork on the crest rail, stiles and arms. The upholstery is pale silvery blue with a fleur-de-lis diamond pattern on it. There are exposed brass nail heads surrounding the thick back rest cushion. The rockers have some ribbing and spoon style carvings. There are metal coil springs attaching each rocker to the platform base. This chair is beautiful and in great condition. There is a surface split in the wood that connects the left arm to the stile and another surface split in the wood where the left shoulder meets the cushion frame. The upholstery is in excellent condition with no rips, tears, pulls or odors. This chair is antique so it will not be perfect however it is in excellent condition for its age. I do not know the maker or exact date it was made. Measurements are 40 ½ inches tall, 22 ½ inches side to side and 25 ¼ inches front to back. It weighs 32 pounds. We do have more photographs that we can email if you are interested.
