Antique 19th century American percussion Plains Rifle by J. Scott 9 Blaser St. Albany, New York 1848-61. DETAILS: The octagonal barrel with blade fore sight and notch rear sight, marked J Scott Albany. The percussion lock decorated with simple scrolls marked with worn-out makers name. Good quality wood stock with burlwood and tiger-striped grain, checkering at the wrist with nicely pierced patchbox and simple brass mounting.
CONDITION: in its original condition with smooth dark patina, one crack in the wood and some minor dings, action needs adjustment but generally very good overall.
MEASUREMENTS: Overall length: 130 cm (51 1/8 inch) with 89 cm (35 inch) long barrel.
