Authentic Antique American Naval officer's sword pattern 1852. Details: A gilded bronze hilt with a semi basket guard decorated in open work with leaves and a floral pattern with 'USN' in raised letters. A wooden grip covered in white shark skin with a copper wire wrap. A brass pommel engraved with leaves and the American eagle on the top. A European import single-edged blade with a fuller and etched on one side with foliage, the American eagle, 'USN', and an anchor. The opposite side of the blade is engraved with martial trophies and a banner which reads 'USN' and on the centre is a panel with eighteen stars, a shield on an anchor, and the forte with the Star of David. Condition: The sword is in good condition.
