Large antique black-painted metal document box, with hand-painted gold trim with red edging, from the turn of the century, measuring approximately 20.5 inches by 14 inches and 11 inches high. This handsome box, weighing approximately 9 pounds, is in its original state, with side handles and a locking mechanism; the key for the lock is missing. It has a great look and would harmonize with Victorian, primitive, and many other decors. It is in good to very good condition, considering its age. The black enamel paint has a mirror shine, with some surface scratching and less than normal paint wear. The interior bottom has some larger scratches and the exterior bottom shows additional paint loss. Please refer to the 4 photographs for appearance and condition.
