ique 19th century Islamic Malay sword Golok with an outstanding horn hilt superbly carved in the form of a mystical creature know as Makara. The eyes of the monster are set with two large authentic rubies, the grip is decorated by silver with a solid silver cross guard. The extremely well hand forged blade is a sturdy single edge and very sharp blade carved on both sides of the ricasso in the image of a human head. One side of the blade has a chiseled geometrical and floral pattern the other side of the blade is with a chiseled pattern only on the ricasso and lower part of the blade. The old leather scabbard is shorter than the blade due to shrinkage over the years. Overall length in the scabbard 26 ½ inches (67.3cm), blade 20 ½ inches (52 cm).
