Authentic antique 17th century Northern European Cavalry troopers sword from the Thirty Years War period time. Details: A hand forged iron hilt composed of two bars and a large basket guard with a thumb-ring, a rounded pommel and a wooden grip with patterned wire binding, the interior of the guard struck with an X mark. A straight double edged blade inlaid on both sides of the forte with brass panels, one of the panels is stamped with the maker's mark which looks like a king's head (the panel on the other side is completely worn out). Reference: "World Swords 1400-1945" by Harvey J.S. Withers, Page 24. Condition: Good condition overall for age with minor wear and pitting. The hilt retains its original black lacquered finish. The overall length is 99cm (39in).
