Authentic antique 17th century Northern European horseman's sword from the Thirty Year War period time. Details: A hand forged iron hilt composed of two bars and a large basket guard with a rounded pommel and a wooden grip with remains of the original leather bounding the interior of the guard. The pommel struck with X marks. A straight double edged sturdy blade stamped on both sides with the maker's marks. Reference: World Swords 1400-1945 by Harvey J.S. Withers. Page 24. The overall length is 90,5 cm (35 5/8 in).
