Fireplace Andirons: Sand-Cast Iron: Mid-Late 1800's
Pair of sand-cast iron andirons from the mid-late 1800's. Both have in-mold mark "20". Loop top with bulls-eye motif. Each stands 12.25"h x 11"deep x 7.25"w. Sand casting allowed for many variations in the mold process, some of which can be seen in the top loop, and the bow in the support legs. These are not actual damage, and add to the uniqueness of the pieces. Finished with stove polish, or "blacking", to prevent rust without painting. Email any questions.
