A fine pair of tall new York or Philadelphia fireplace andirons. The cabriole legs end in pad feet and also have spurs on the legs. Above is a square base or plinth with molded bottom. Above is a tapered cylinder column with turned capital and base. A flat plinth or column top foots a turned neoclassic urn finial. The andirons have a central wrought iron rod which is peened to the top. The andirons retain the original wrought iron billets with curved section which acts as a log stop.
