American Majolica Portrait Tile

$255.00
Quantity available: 1
Rare majolica portrait tile of a Woman in Oriental Headdress, intaglio carved and relief molded, from the Trent Tile Company, Trenton, NJ. The tile is in very good condition with two shallow left edge nicks and several glaze bruises. The tile is carved in exquisite detail from the piled high curls of the lady's wonderful hairstyle to the strands of pearls dripping down from the brim to the back of her headdress, the large hoop earring and ribbins unfurling in front of her and behind the nape of her neck to the flower-form fibula, or broach, clasping her gown at the shoulder. No wear to the the high points of the tile. If you are working on a fireplace installation, I have nine 6"x6" floral tiles in a coordinating glaze available to go along with this tile. Please write with any questions you may have.
