This is a beautiful signed Pitkin & Brooks American Brilliant Period Cut Glass Fern Bowl. It was made by the Pitkin & Brooks Cut Glass Co. of Chicago, Ill. circa 1910. They were in business from 1872 to 1920. This piece is signed on the side of the bowl with the P&B in diamond logo. The ferner is 4 inches tall and 6-7/8 inches in diameter. The bowl is 3-3/4 inches deep. I have been unable to identify this pattern as yet but it is beautifully cut in diamonds and fans. The diamonds are infilled with Crosshatch, cane and hobstars going around the bowl in pyramid forms with fans between. The bottom is cut in a three lobed fans and it has three peg feet that are cut with flat notched columns. The feet are a little rough and one has a 1/4 inch round flake, and there is one 1/4 inch very shallow flake on the flat rim of the bowl. This piece is in very good condition with the exceptions noted. Very clear and heavy glass. The bowl weighs 3 pounds before packing. A beautiful piece of American Brilliant Period cut glass for your collection.
