American Arts & Crafts Tile - USET

$255.00
Quantity available: 1

Charming and rare tile depicting a boy gathering wood standing under his umbrella with rain drops falling off its brim in front of him from the United States Encaustic Tile Company, Indianapolis, Indiana. The tile is intaglio carved and is also carved in very high relief -- the figure extends out 3/8" from the face of the tile and so is nearly 3/4 in the round. Given that design, it is in excellent condition with the only wear being to the brim of the umbrella directly behind the boy's shoulder. There are a few very small edge nicks as shown. The tile is finished in a deep green majolica glaze. Please write with any questions you may have.
