Acrylic Rainbow Chair by Patrick Norguet for Cappellini

This colored acrylic Rainbow chair by Patrick Norguet (French, 1969- ) was made by Cappellini (Italy) in the year 2000. It is in excellent condition, with no deep scratches, chips or cracks. It features stripes of clear, ruby red, green, yellow and pink acrylic. Norguet studied at ENSCI in Paris, and received acclaim in the 1990s when he was commissioned by Louis Vuitton to oversee all of their visual communications. In 1999 Giulio Cappellini was presented a prototype of the Rainbow chair and the following year it went into production. That same year Norguet left Louis Vuitton to create his own studio and has since created designs for Offecct, Artifort and others. His Rive Droite line for Cappellini, which featured upholstery by Pucci, was particularly successful.
