This is a nice clean, 19th century hair curling iron marked "ACIER". It is believed to be made in France, where the fade of ironing or curl ironing hair began. The irow was heated on a stove. This one is 11" long overall. It's in great shape, no rust or pitting, smooth and clean, with a good pivot joint near the center.
