This circa 1920 Art Deco Chinese rug measures 10 X 16. It has an overall pattern of gigantic flower heads interlaced with designs. The flower heads are in three colors of green and yellow. There are cloud motifs at each end of the field in yellow, gold and ivory. There is also a strange Art Deco design in red, yellow and pale green coming into the center of the rug above corners worked in flower heads surrounded by diamonds. The opposite corners have masses of lotus leafs coming out of the border into the field. There is a pale peach hexagonal motif containing flower heads coming out of the sides into the field. All is encompassed with a solid gray border. The rug shows slight wear in a few scattered spots, otherwise it is full pile. The ends and sides are complete. This rug is truly spectacular and in a hard to find size. It has the look and feel of an Agra. This rug will make any room a real statement. It is pure Art Deco in its sophistication.
