6 inch Oil Sharpening Stone w/ Oak Case

$34.00
Quantity available: 1

This is a nice used 2 x 6 x 1" thick sharpening stone in a fitted old oak case. The case is made of oak and perhaps another type of wood on the end caps. It's in very good condition, and holds the stone very well, yet the stone can be removed to be able to use either side of it. There is a place on the stone that looks like it was the original label, but I can't make out any name on the label. This stone is flat on both side and clean, no cracks, very nice. This vintage stone is flat, well cared for, oiled, clean and ready to use! It is an oil stone, and lite oil like WD-40 to clean it, and while you are using it to hone, or sharpen your tools. Note: One of the best ways to clean an oil stone is to use another with the same grit, along with clean oil and rub them together and allow the dirty oil to run off the stone during this process. Works great!
