A wonderful set of six sterling silver coffee spoons, the bowls decorated in vivid green translucent enamel and the handles terminating in green bakelite coffee bean finials. The translucent enamel reveals elegant engraving underneath. The curious coffee bean finials were very popular in England for a time, but Ive never seen them in green. The stems are fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1936-37, and have the makers mark T&S. The spoons are presented in their original velvet- and satin-line fitted box, the lid marked with the retailers name. Origin: England, 1936-37. Condition: one spoon has a rather unnoticeable 1/8 flake to the enamel, the others are excellent; the box shows normal signs of wear on the exterior. Size: 3-13/16 long. Weight: 48.0 grams.
