You are viewing a wonderful pair of large Russian porcelain Werbiliki urns. They stand in at an impressive two foot tall making these an important pair. They each feature a profussion of vivid, intricate hand painted designs and I hope the photos do this some justice. Each features the sumptuous panels with hand painted flowers, musical instrument and leaves. The detail is breathtaking. The urns also feature the elegant handles that curl out of the bowl of the urn. The urns also feature elegant gold leaf gilding on all parts. The hand painted gold leaf designs are also evident at other points on the urns, to make a lovely contrast with the green. Werbiliki porcelain from near Moscow in Russia became really famous after having designed and provided three complete services for the Russian Imperial court. The manufacture's ranking was now one of the best in Europe. Their technique of gilding especially earned high admiration, also their series of figural porcelain were acclaimed.
