This bronze chryselephantine statue, circa 1910, by Maurice Charles Favre (1875-1915), depicts a female in medieval dress and headress and is entitled Chant de la Fileuse. This sculpture features carved face and hands and rests upon a circular plinth mounted with plaque which reads CHANT de la FILEUSE (Song of the Spinner), Par Mce ct Favre, 2e Medaille au Salon. Signed M. C. Favre. Measures 24" high, 9.5" wide and 7" deep and weighs an estimated 18-24 lbs. This item resides on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York and may be seen by appointment.
