Mid-20TH. Century Oil on Board Painting of Sailing Ship by Captain Bayard Fish Foulke. This Painting measures 27" in Width and 20" in Height. Captain Bayard Fish Foulke was born in Oyster Bay, Long Island on February 28, 1880. He was a Sea Captain who sailed the High Seas for over 50 Years. This is the Fifth Foulke Painting that we have owned. The first one had the signature of all the mates of the Sailing Ship. Captain Foulke was a Life Time Sea Captain who loved to paint Harbour Scenes of North Shore in Gloucester, Massachusetts. We have three of his paintings on our web site which are all North Shore Gloucester Maritime Nautical Scenes. Those three were framed in Philadelphia with one of those having a sticker on the back of the framer, Staton's Gallery. This Painting was framed by Newman Gallery in Philadelphia. This Painting is of a Clipper Ship on the High Seas. It is signed Bayard F.(Fish) Foulke. Foulke was a Life Time Sea Captain and painting was a Hobby.
