To a Delaware Valley early neoclassic fireplace mantelpiece. The blocked shelf has three projections which match reeded applied tablets to the frieze. Above the tablets is a course of reeded section and the tablets are footed on a moulded trim, which proceeds down the mantel legs or jambs. The interior and exterior of the mantel opening have moulded beaded sections. This fine country mantel displays excellent craftsmanship including mitre pins at the top of the mantel opening. The mantel has been hand cleaned of all old paint buildup, woodwork repairs have been made as necessary and a rich hand rubbed patina finish applied. Should you wish to paint the mantel, use a soft cloth with turpentine to remove any wax from the surface of the mantel prior to painting. NOTE: This mantle should be installed by your mechanic in accordance with all local fire and building codes. (#1689)
