2003/981 Chester County Mantel c.1790-1810

Unavailable
A soft pine transitional fireplace mantelpiece retaining elements of early paneled design as well as neoclassic elements. The mantel jambs or legs have raised panels in the early Georgian manner. Above the frieze is a course of applied dentils which bring the mantel into the later period. These are supported by a trim section which surrounds both the legs and supports the original dentils. The mantel has been hand cleaned of all old paint buildup, woodwork repairs have been made as necessary and a rich hand rubbed patina finish applied. Should you wish to paint the mantel, use a soft cloth with turpentine to remove any wax from the surface of the mantel prior to painting. NOTE: This mantle should be installed by your mechanic in accordance with all local fire and building codes.
