To a good quality Federal style white pine fireplace mantelpiece. The shelf has 3 projections which agree with tablets mounted to the frieze. The tablets contain fluted convex column sections which are repeated in the pilasters mounted to the legs or jambs. The pilasters have applied molded plinths. The mantel frieze has 2 band courses of molded section and the interior and exterior of the mantel have a half-round member. This mantel has been cleaned of all old paint buildup, woodwork repairs have been made as necessary and a rich hand rubbed patina finish applied. Should you wish to paint the mantel, use a soft cloth with turpentine to remove any wax from the surface of the mantel prior to painting.
This mantle should be installed by your mechanic in accordance with all local fire and building codes.
