To a Pine fireplace mantelpiece in the neoclassic manner having composition ornaments reproduced on lines shown by the original missing ornament, the composition in the ancient Greek motive. The mantelpiece has been refinished in a warm handrubbed patina finish. The straight shelf is mounted with composition waterleaf, swag and rope with pendant drops and acorn pendants. Below, the frieze contains 3 tablets surrounded with lamb's tongue. The center is mounted with a chariot carrying fortune, drawn by two lions and preceded with putti. 2 side tablets contain classic female muse. The mantel legs or jambs contain 2 molded pilasters with lamb's tongue surround and bow knot and bell flower drops. The pilasters are footed on molded plinths, and the hearth opening is surrounded with molded trim. The mantel has been hand cleaned of all old paint buildup, woodwork repairs have been made as necessary and a rich hand rubbed patina finish applied. Should you wish to paint the mantel, use a soft cloth with turpentine to remove any wax from the surface of the mantel prior to painting.
This mantel should be installed by your mechanic in accordance with all local fire and building codes.
