To a fine and rare Chester, County Pennsylvania pine neoclassic mantel. This country example displays earlier Georgian crossetted corners and punctuated dentilation. The frieze is mounted with fluted triglyph. The shelf has two projected ends which agree with stepped moulding. The amusing country folk art variant has fluted plinths mounted to the plain trimmed jambs. The mantel has been hand cleaned of all old paint buildup, woodwork repairs have been made as necessary and a rich hand rubbed patina finish applied. Should you wish to paint the mantel, use a soft cloth with turpentine to remove any wax from the surface of the mantel prior to painting.
This mantel should be installed by your mechanic in accordance with all local fire and building codes.
