Absolutely stunning work of Art.... This repousse and hand chased silver box is depicting Birds of Paradise among flowers, surrounded by decorative border typical in Isfahan rugs. Decor on top of the box is 3 dimensional in relief, all four sides are hand chase decorated in extremely fine detail. Unfortunately, pictures don't capture the beauty, which eye so easily perceives... The base is marked with artist signature - native speaking person told us it says "Abr-Barzin", and also hallmarked with number 84. This hallmark was used in Russian silver items before 1896, based on the information from International Hallmarks on Silver collected by Tardy. We believe this fine box was made in Russia (Azerbaidjan or Turkmenistan). Excellent condition, dimension : 8-3/4 x 4 inches.
