SOLD Antique 18th century Islamic Persian Qajar Dynasty, military banner finial made of hand forged steel in the shape of the mythical hornet dragon. Heads of dragons with open jaws are common ornaments on Qajar military axes. The head of the mythical dragon can by traced in Iranian tradition to the time of ancient Persia. HEIGHT: 39.5 cm (15 1/2 inches).
