19th Century French Butcher Block
Antique French butcher blocks were always a desired piece of furniture in any good cook’s kitchen. The woods used vary from Oak to Teak—or basically any very hard and densely grained wood.
The parquet 'end-grain' top is a much harder surface and has a greater tolerance for repeated chopping. These boards give a truly resistant cutting surface while being kind to the blade’s sharp edge.
This antique French butcher block has a drawer and rests upon four ribbed legs with bun feet. Condition: Rubs, nicks and sloping to top from use.
