Scarce early 19th century European Fusiliers sidearm - sword. A solid brass hilt with a grooved grip riveted on the centre and an S -shaped guard, strongly resembles the French Napoleonic Infantry Sword-model AN IX, and is stamped on the both sides of the guard with ordnance marks. The slightly curved single edged blade narrows at the forte and then broadens out like a falchion. Overall length: 61 cm (24 in).
