The Dutch/Belgian artist Adolphe Alexandre Dillens produced mainly genre works after completing his studies at the academy in Ghent. He was inspired by scenes from everyday life in Zeeland and also by folk tales. His works are characterized by his clear compositions and use of rich colours and detail.
