19th century French bronze sculpture mounted on a white marble base, signed Coinchon and is a high relief depiction of the young sheerer boy Moses peering out into the distance seated on an outcropping adorned with Egyptian pharaoh motif. Perhaps he is ironically sitting on his destiny which is to back to Egypt, confront pharaoh and become the leader that he was destined to be.
Coinchion Jacques Antione Theodore was a French sculpture who was born in 1814 and died 1881. He is noted for his portraits, figurers and works in bronze. This statue would make a splendid addition to any fine household or collection.
