1998 Congressional COOKBOOK - Original invitation honoring Barbara Bush - First lady Bush - Washington Hilton Hotel - 1919 connecticut ave

The Congressional Club was founded in 1908 to provide a non-partisan setting for friendships among the spouses of members of the House and Senate in Washington, D.C.  The luncheon was  held at the Washington Hilton Hotel ( 1919 connecticut ave nw) on May 9th 2002. It was honoring Barbara Bush in the International Ballroom. Inside this book is the ticket to that luncheon along with  The gentleman that attended sent this book along with the ticket to his mother who has now passed. I hope this book finds a great home as it holds a piece of Washington history inside it. The book is in EXCELLENT condition. The Washington Hilton was built in 1965 in a double-arched design, the hotel long sported the largest pillar-less hotel ballroom in the city. Numerous large events have been regularly hosted at the Hilton Washington, including the annual dinners of the White House Correspondents Association and the Radio and Television Correspondents Association, as well as the National Prayer Breakfast.

Because these are vintage estate pieces and are vintage and possibly pre-worn so they are not considered new from the factory…..  Please see photos for any wear or light surface scratches that come with age.☺………………. Sold as is and priced accordingly..  All cufflinks ( unless otherwise specified)  are considered costume jewelry. We don’t polish these previously owned well loved pieces so we can keep the original patina. We try and photograph all of the pieces next to a ruler so you can see the actual size. All jewelry sold as found.

We use the descriptions of any stones from the manufacturers titles when they were first produced. When we refer to the stones as moonstone or jade or garnet, for example, we are using how the original manufacturer of the pieces used them. We cannot guarantee the authenticity of a stone in a costume piece of jewelry. All pieces have been worn at least one time unless otherwise specified.  Although the pieces we carry are unique and interesting they may have a little wear ( if any) but they sure have a lot of love that came with them when they were first purchased way back when.
