To a fine and rare white pine fireplace mantelpiece from the Newburgh, New York area. The frieze is mounted with tablets which are carved in deep relief in folk art fan motives. The mantel legs or jambs have moulded pilasters which are footed on plinths. The mantel has been reassembled and small replacement mouldings added where necessary. The mantel has been hand cleaned of all old paint buildup and a rich hand rubbed patina finish applied. Should you wish to paint the mantel, use a soft cloth with turpentine to remove any wax from the surface of the mantel prior to painting.
This mantle should be installed by your mechanic in accordance with all local fire and building codes.
