To a Johnstown, New York c.1790-1810 fireplace mantelpiece with moulded shelf supported by cove section moulding. The plain frieze is crossed with a belt course which is continued to the exterior of the jambs or legs. This mantel has been hand scraped to the original rich blue-grey painted surface. Note: This mantel should be installed by your mechanic in accordance with all local fire and building codes.
