To an early Massachusetts white pine Chimney Breast of the circa 1750-1770 period. The upper section contains two hand planed free floating panels. The hearth opening is mounted with applied moulded sections. Note: The upper panel has been extended 8 1/2 inches for a previous installation.The chimney breast has been hand cleaned of all old paint buildup, woodwork repairs have been made as necessary and a rich hand rubbed patina finish applied. Should you wish to paint the mantel, use a soft cloth with turpentine to remove any wax from the surface of the mantel prior to painting.
This chimney breast should be installed by your mechanic in accordance with all local fire and building codes.
