1962 Marvelously Macabre Vintage Mid-Century Avedon Look Cover Art- Tippi Hedren and Feathered Fiend Star in Hitchcock's The Birds. Utterly Fabulous Find! Original Rare Vintage Mid-Century Look Magazine Cover art for the December, 1962 issue! With slightly tongue-in-cheek wit, Avedon offers up a wild weird and wonderful image of Hitchcocks new Grace Kelly former model and soon to-be-infamous star Tippi Hedren. Lovely Miss Hedren poses with a slightly suspicious smile next to one of the many feathered fiends who haunt her mercilessly in that foul film The Birds. Great image has all the signature depth perception and oddity of photographer Richard Avedon at his best. Note the way the bird is dappled with purple and green tones and that one huge feather covers a portion of Tippi's face. This is the original cover only- measuring 11 x 14. Condition is good- mailing label can be seen in the corner and there is some minor wear to the edges. A unique bit of Hollywood history sure to lure some fan to it's slightly eerie beauty!
