Description Date: 1951 Size: 9.5 x 13.5 inches Artist: Franz, L. Notes: Poster, Small Poster, Carton About The Poster: A delightful advertising piece from 1951 for the Italian distillery known as Franzini. Using the traditional appeal of a lovely lady, with lovely long legs, this point of sale advertisement was printed by Graf. A. MARiani in Milan. The Pietro Franzini & C. distilleries were founded in Milan in 1915 and survived two world wars thanks to the tenacity and enterprise of the owner, Pietro Franzini. The original production of spirits focused on bitters and digestifs, which were well-received on the domestic Italian market. It is printed on thick card stock and would have been used in-store as a merchandising tool. In excellent condition, this carton would look lovely in a kitchen, restaurant or even living room. (We have another version of this piece which is precisely the same size, but which has printers marks on the front side and tax stamps on the reverse.)
