1950's Sterling Caballero Winged Indian Coin Necklace SIGNEd and hallmarked
Click thumbnails for expanded view.
WIth a very Deco look, this WInged Indian resides on a large solid silver coin ( 7.6 grams) that measures 1 1/3" across. IT is also a brooch so you can wear it more than one way. The sterling chain ( also marked on the clasp)is 17" long and weighs 5.5 grams. The "Eagle" form marks on the back of this brooch/pendant were instituted by the Mexican government in 1948. The number on the eagle's chest ( 28) indicates either the city of assay or an individual maker. THe eagle is often thought to be a bell since it is such a small mark. This is in great shape and something you could get a lot of wear out of. VintageSparkles offers Layaway on all our pieces regardless of which site it comes from. Please remember that vintage & antique items are not mint, nor are they perfect but they sure are full of old history and charm. Please use photos to make your decisions and read our policies prior to buying so you can have an excellent experience with us.
