Paramount Pictures mounted a lavish, splashily bold spectacle for it's singing sensation Betty Hutton loosely based on the life of early Film Serial Queen Pearl "Perils of Pauline" White. Done with all the flair and confidence of the Mid-Century, the film features wonderful song and dance numbers, sparkling comedy and sensational character actors such as the inimitable Constance Collier and raw-voiced, easily irascible William Demarest at his crusty best.
