1946 Marvelous Vintage Mid-Century Ad- Stunning Pin-Up Sweater Girl prefers the Dapper Gent in the Jantzen Sweater- Superb Pete Hawley Circus Artwork. Sophisticated Original Vintage Mid-Century Ad with a subtle twist of wit and humor taken from the pages of an Autumn, 1946 issue of Life Magazine. Blazing with color texture and humor this is a fantastic image done by the incomparably talented artist Pete Hawley who had a unique sense of animated humor combined with a stunning Technicolor beauty and fantastic eye for alluring looking women with perfect figures. Great graphic features a sophisticated brunette beauty with form-fitting sweater in circus setting being escorted by two dapper gents sporting new beautifully bright Jantzen sweaters styles for the autumn. Artist Pete Hawley has given this image a great wry twist- each gent has his signature animated look with cocky raised eyebrows and wide-mouthed smile- one stands underneath a sign which reads wolf, the other a sing which reads lion- note that the lion is triumphant in attracting the attentions of the devastating brunette- the sweaters each feature names spectator, sleek and rooster and were available in a variety of wonderful shades from cream and black to coco, grey, burgundy and butter. This is a fabulous example of Pete Hawley- a master of pin-up art who created many incredible racy, risque and superb ads for Jantzen at the time.
