1941 Flawlessly Chic Vintage Forties Ad- Delectable Hollywood Star Dolores Del Rio Keeps Complexion Perfection with Woodbury's Color Controlled Powder- Reynaldo Luza Artwork. Absolutely Dazzling Original Vintage Forties Ad taken from the pages of a Summer, 1941 issue of Ladies Home Journal Magazine. One of the all time definitively exotic alluring women to ever appear in Hollywood Dolores Del Rio possessed a sophisticated chic which drew great strength from her own aristocratic heritage. Often seen in stark white ensembles to offset her stunning tanned complexion women must have been thrilled to know that some of her allure was due to her use of Woodbury Color Controlled powder. Painted in deep bold colors by Peruvian artist Reynaldo Luza, this is a lovely example of her strong sultry sensual strength- ad also features four popular stars of the period and their skin types- which might be yours as well. Woodbury reminds the prospective consumer that to invite romance be true to your skin tones and choose your cosmetics accordingly- great advice utterly impossible to ignore when leading lady lovelies Myrna Loy, Merle Oberon, Brenda Joyce and Virginia Bruce also insist that it is the secret of their flawless cinema success! Dolores looks dramatic, exotic and a little tempestuous just beneath the surface part vixen, part volcano! Ad measures 11 x 15 and is in crisp excellent condition overall. A fine example of by-gone Hollywood glamour also a fabulous painting done by one of the foremost fashion artists of the period Reynaldo Luza who was specifically chosen by Dolores to create a winning portrait specifically for this ad! Will give any decor the elegant sophisticated ambiance of this uniquely splendid woman!
