1931 Sensational Vintage Deco Ad- Marvelous Mr. Peanut Attends Fabulous Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration for Planter's Peanuts 25th Anniversary- Clara Fargo Thomas Metallic Paint Artwork. Absolutely Incredible Original Vintage Deco Ad taken from the pages of a July, 1931 issue of Saturday Evening Post Magazine. Metallic Aluminum Paint graced many beautiful ad images during the earliest days of the sleek and sublimely sophisticated thirties. Splashed gorgeously across two brilliantly colorful pages, artist Clara Fargo Thomas gives us a wonderfully whimsical image to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Planter's Peanuts- the infamous "nickel lunch". An entire party filled with excited peanut-folk wedding guests marvel with delight as perennially convivial boulevardier, Mr. Peanut descends from a dazzling orange and yellow hot air balloon amidst a shower of silver fireworks and the bridal bouquet. Mr. Peanut was the protein-based equivalent of popular star Maurice Chevalier- ever congenial, polished and well turned-out, never without his snappy spats and sleek top-hat. This is a prime example of the enthralling glories of high gloss Art Deco graphics- capturing the spirit of the era with a bright and charming air! Ad measures 11 x 15 for each page- condition is bright and crisp overall- colors are even more amazing in person than in the scans seen here. Will be a magnificent, unusual and playful addition to any decor.
