This is a Grandmother's Fan pattern quilt from the 1930's. It measures 66 x 84". It has muslin for the front onto which the fans have been appliqued. The batting is all cotton. The back is a solid pink like the pink in the base of many of the fans. It is hand pieced and hand quilted with 14 stitches per inch. It is in excellent condition with no fading or tears but t is one block that has a small age stain (see pic #4). The colors in the fabrics are clear and bright. The calicos appear to be mostly old feed sack fabrics that were used for anything from clothing to quilts. A truly marvelous old quilt.
