1930 World's Fair Toilet Ashtray

Unavailable
This unique and probably hard-to-find ashtray features a toilet which has a lid that opens. On the lid is a sticker which says "1933 Century of Progress Chicago". The base is iridized, white in the center, pale green on the rim. with a black line seperating the two. In the center is a toilet with an orange base, a brown toilet seat, hinged to actually open. The brown seat looks like old metal, but it is really made of the same kind of substance as the base. That substance is probably rough porcelain made in Japan at the time for the souvenir trade. On the bottom is a black stamped-on signature consisting of a diamond with a fish pierced through a heart. Above the fish are five letters which are not clear enough to guess. Under the diamond is "Registered U.S.A. Patent Off." On the side it says "Made in Japan." The ashtray is in remarkably good condition. This item is a must for the collector of World's Fair memorabilia or ashtray collectors.
