1928 Elegant Vintage Deco Ad- Fashionable French Flappers Marvel at Richard Hudnut Compact le Debut- Sleek Moderne Salon Artwork. Absolutely Divine Original Vintage Deco Ad taken from the pages of a Spring, 1928 issue of Ladies Home Journal Magazine, this is a sublime ad for the Richard Hudnut Compact le Debut smart sleekly glamorous series of compact designs featuring multi-colored cloisoinee tops- the height of elegant Parisenne allure for the smart flapper of the latter twenties. Beautifully drawn iamge features a lavish Salon setting complete with stylish flappers, gorgeous appointments a fantastic display of the entire array in the product line and a jetting fountain amusing the smartly attired shoppers in the background. Wonderful example of high-gloss glamour during the Deco era- note the dramatic ad-copy which extolls the virtues of the product and insists that the reader must of course be of fastidious, exceptional taste eager to purchase dainty convenient compacts styles with what is ebulliently described as " a verve and freshness that have caught the very tempo of the hour." Hudnut was becoming a popular cosmetic and perfume brand during the late twenties- this ad gives it the chic cachet it absolutely deserves. Fantastic idealized image of the glories of shopping in exclusive Pris salons of the time- note the color palette of pinks, blues and whites sure to delight any shopper! Ad measures 11 x 15 condition is bright and crisp overall. Drawing is unsigned but resembles the airy fluffy quality of popular painter Marie Laurenciene. For the collector of Vintage Art Deco compacts all six of the designs are seen in b/w photo and color display images. Incredible in person- will make a marvelous Easter gift!
