1922 Vintage Deco Era Ad- Fabulous Flapper in Charming Fantasy Asian-themed Setting wears Mc Callum Silk Hosiery- Superb Mary McKinnon Artwork. Exceptional Original Vintage Jazz Age/Early Deco Era Color Ad taken from the cosmopolitan chic pages of Vanity Fair Magazine. Mary McKinnon has created a lavish, superbly rich, fantasy setting to showcase her spectacular talent for beautiful compositions full of color, texture and outre but rather glamorous tastes. This image expressly created for Mc Callum Silk Hosiery is the epitome of grace and charm for the Jazz Age- an unusual dash of contrasting colors in a bold palette full of whimsicality, fantasy and humor and a definite Asian flair. This is the type of setting being seen and admired in the films of actress Gloria Swanson- flickering images that enflamed the imagination of a new generation determined to absolutely enjoy existence. The lovely works of Mary McKinnon who specialized in a gauzy exotic look were perfectly suited to the tastes of the emerging Art Deco movement and luxury products such as McCallum Silk Hosiery. Note the snob-appeal of the You just know she wears them and the Lanvin inspired bottle green and chartruese robe de style- very smart in 1922. Ad is in good overall condition and measures 10 x 13- one of the rarer illustrations created for exclusive publications such as Vogue and Vanity Fair. Uncommon and uncommonly lovely in person.
