1917 Vintage World War One Pair of Ads for Geo P. Bent Piano Company. This stylish and modern pair of ads were specifically created to grace the interiors of theater programs for two Chicago performances of 1917- and are appealing and forward thinking in their general appearance. In one a gent makes music come alive with ripples of confetti-like color on a stark sapphire blue background. On the second image we see a graceful looking lass performing on another model which is tilted towards the viewer in a three-d effect. The piano is mint green, her gown is yellow and the background is done in navy blue and gray- very stark and effective in a decidedly modern manner for 1917. The Geo P. Bent Piano Company was a Chicago institution- obviously in the vanguard of industrial design- both models and ads look forward to the stylized chic of art deco even though they were executed in 1917. Each ad is taken from a theater program and in good bright overall condition -they compliment one another perfectly- each measures 6 x 8.
