Absolutely Exquisite Original Vintage Ad for Palmolive Soap taken from an issue of Ladies Home Journal Magazine. Unsigned Willy Pogany artwork is sublime- ad-copy compares the magical beauty potions of the Ancient Egyptians and their use of olive and palm oil to the modern day woman who can purchase the superior blends of Palmolive Shampoo and cosmetic lines. Wonderful example of the earlier commercial work of Willy Pogany done in an imaginative regal fashion- note that the princess offers the modern bar of Palmolive Soap in front of an ancient hieroglyph featuring the making of soaps 3,000 years ago. While this ad was created prior to the rise of the Art Deco movement, it contains several elements that were hallmarks of the style- simplicity, charm, elegance historical fantasy themes.
