1916 Seth Thomas "York" Mantle Clock Complete Restoration

If you're going to spend the money, you might as well get one that has been completely gone over mechanically - This 1916 Seth Thomas "York #1" 8-Day time and strike movement has been sonic cleaned, rebushed, new pivots, etc, and is ready for another 100 years.

The ribbon mahogany veneered case has had a light cosmetic restoration in a satin finish and is stunning. Note the shaded marquetry raised panels - One of the few of these that you will ever see in this condition. The brass bezel has not been polished or laquered, the convex BEVELED glass is original, the original silvered dial is excellent with a few light scratches consistent with age - and this one even has the "ST" hands - all of these thngs were options in their day. Pendulum bob is original and key is a replacement.

Clock runs accurately and nicely strikes the hour and half hour on a coil gong with a mellow tone. Bezel closes correctly as does the back door. This is a very fine mantle clock that has been restored by a professional horologist and NWACC Member - absolutely no disappointments with this one.
